Organic Syntax, 2009

Serving as the material and conceptual genesis for the Wedding Bells sculpture, this mixed-media installation utilizes organic ready-mades to investigate the raw, fragile nature of interpersonal communication.The work positions natural palm fronds in a relational alignment, their organic geometry bound and encrusted with heavy layers of molten wax. The addition of the wax neutralizes the biological decay while introducing a highly scarred, tactile vulnerability to the surfaces. By placing these structured botanical elements in direct spatial confrontation, the installation captures the visceral friction of dialogue, partnership, and the anatomical effort to sustain connection.
