Beit Refuah Shleimah, Ein Karem, 1996
Ink on paper (Architectural preservation drawing)
70 x 110 cm
Created in 1996 as part of an architectural preservation project in Jerusalem, this detailed ink drawing documents the historic stone facade of "Beit Refuah Shleimah" in Ein Karem. Shifting away from physical distortion, the work relies on meticulous draftsmanship to archive the heavy textures, weathering, and memory embedded in the ashlar masonry. The structural composition centers on a prominent archway framing an entrance with ornate wrought-iron grilles and an engraved stone inscription, presenting the building as a silent monument to historic endurance, symmetry, and architectural truth.
