Incinerated Architecture, 2024

Born from a direct confrontation with the physical evidence of devastation, this sculpture captures the heavy, claustrophobic atmosphere of the incinerated homes within the Gaza envelope. Created in 2024 following a visit to the destroyed communities, the work processes the raw trauma of structural collapse and violent erasure.The traditional symmetry of the wheel-thrown vessel is shattered and deformed into an architectural ruin of soot and ash. The scorched, uneven surface—permanently marked by the chaotic heat of pit-firing—retains the exact, haunting palette of a structure burnt to its foundation. It stands as a silent, material archive of absolute loss, transforming clay into a visceral monument to the violent undoing of home and safe boundaries.
